The Chiba Lotte need to change for future.

It was absolutely historic stall. Most of people, especially their fans, believed the team will do runaway victory. But the prediction was not true. The situation turned for bad side.

The Chiba Lotte Marines fall to clinch Climax series, play-off games of NPB. They were 15 games over .500 in 6/10, but they lost all of them. And they are 3 games under .500. They lost possibility to go ahead to Climax series in 10/3. The miss is 2 consecutive year failure for them.

WHY? Are there many injury players? Did they lack long-ball hitter? Didn't they use sprint player to make stolen base? Did the manager loss centripetal force for players?

All of the guess may true. But it looks one of the important point may the farm system couldn't go work efficiently. They couldn't produce the players who could stimulate the team in right time.

In last year, the farm provide some hopeful players for future. Especially, one of the masterpiece was Katsuya Kakunaka who is about to acquire the leading hitter title. Now he is not hopeful player. He is main player for team.

In another point, Yuta Kimura, Tetsu Yamamoto, and Abe, all of them made debut in last year, couldn't contribute for team in this year. They might do it if they promoted to right time. But there were not efficient promote and demote between top team(Ichi-gun) and minor team(Ni-gun). The frequent one was by veterans or mid-level players.

Ironically, the farm team won the minor league championship which was first time since 2010. But the most of contributer was not fresh players. The players who has been in the team for some extent.

And also, the fact what all of rookie players contributed for the team indicate the other young players didn't rival them. It mean the farm system didn't go work this year.

The Hokkaido Nipponham, the league champion in 2012, provided many hopeful players for top team. Even if they lost the captain, Kensuke Tanaka who may accross the pacific to go to MLB, they could prepare the spare players soon, Nishikawa. And you shouldn't forget the team lost Yu Darvish in last off season.

There are many "If" in the team in 2012. For not only next year but also future, they need to change some systems in the team. As you know, it is not mean they should bring back Bobby Valentine. For the long span, they need to be "strategical" team.

Chiba, the city where is the east neighbors of Tokyo, is not big city. The population is not reach one million. It is one of the smallest market of NPB. They need to survive for their future.
